HEALTH

Classy Canines requests that no dogs showing signs of ill health be brought into the salon, this is for their own comfort and for the safety of staff and other dogs that may be in the salon, should the dog be showing signs of illness please call the salon to reschedule your appointment. If you dog shows signs of being unwell during the appointment then the groom will be stopped and you will be contacted to pick up your dog and may still be charged for the appointment. Please note we are also unable to groom pregnant dogs.

VACCINATIONS

Classy Canines is unable to groom your dog if they are unvaccinated or if their latest vaccination was within the last two weeks. Please make sure dogs booked into the salon are up to date with all vaccinations and are out-with their two weeks of their most recent vaccination.

FLEAS & TICKS

Please make sure that your dog is up to date with their flea and tick treatment and do not bring them into the salon if you suspect them of having an infestation. Should a flea infestation be found on your dog during the groom this will incur an additional fee of £10 due to the extra use of flea shampoo and time spent to sanitise the salon and equipment. Should a tick be found on your dog this will also incur an additional fee of £5 for the removal of that tick.

NEGLECTED & MATTED COATS

Classy Canines follows the practise of 'Humanity Over Vanity' and while every effort will be taken during intake to assess the coat, sometimes matting is not fully identified until the grooming has started and if presented with a severely matted or neglected coat, that in Classy Canines' professional opinion, and for the benefit of the dog, would be better to be clipped off rather than de-matted then a call will be placed to yourself to discuss this, however should you not be reachable then the groom will proceed with the coat being clipped off. Matting is painful and uncomfortable for the dog and depending on how severe it is, it is sometimes not possible to be brushed out and instead the dog may be better off with the coat being clipped off.

BEHAVIOUR

Classy Canines requests that any known behaviour issues are disclosed during the first consultation, this is to allow some extra time to groom the dog appropriately. Should aggression be displayed by your dog then for Classy Canines' own safety a muzzle may be used. Should it become clear during the grooming process that it will be impossible to complete the groom due to aggressive behaviour then the groom will be stopped, you will be called to collect your dog and a charge may still be applied.

TIME KEEPING

Classy Canines requests that owners take every step possible to keep to their appointment times, this is to allow your dog to get their full allocated timeslot. As Classy Canines is a one to one groomer, dogs are not double booked and a missed appointment is a loss of payment for that time, therefore, should you be over 15 minutes late for your appointment a 50% charge for the groom will be applied. No shows will be charged the full 100% base amount and this must be paid in full before any further appointments will be made. Classy Canines also requests that owners do not show up early to pick up their dogs, this can cause overexcitement for the dog, making the groom difficult to finish. A text will be sent to you 30-20 minutes before your dog will be finished.

CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING

Classy Canines understands that things can happen and sometimes appointments may need to be cancelled and/or rescheduled, however Classy Canines requests that 48 hour notice be given about cancellations, this will allow appropriate time for the timeslot to be filled by someone else. Should less than 48 hours notice be provided then a charge of 50% will be requested and for on the day cancellations a payment of 100% will need to be paid before a new appointment can be booked.

GROOMING TIMES

Classy Canines requests that owners understand that any grooming times given are an estimate only and that other factors can impact how long the groom is going to take, such as the coat condition, behavioural issues and whether or not the dog will require breaks during the groom.

PRICING

Classy Canines requests that owners understand that prices quoted are an estimate and other factors can result in a price increase, such as a matted coat or the dog being dropped off late.

GENERAL

Classy Canines requests that all dogs be walked before taken to the salon, this is to allow the dog time to relieve themselves before they come to the salon and to allow them to burn off excess energy before they arrive. Classy Canines also requests that any special requirements be made known to us at time of booking, for example if your dog is diabetic and will need to eat during their appointment, please bring some of their food with you and they will be allowed time to eat during a break in their groom. Likewise if your dog requires a special shampoo from the vet, please make sure to bring this with you to your appointment and then take it with you again when your dog is picked up. Water will always be on hand for all dogs in the salon.

NEW CLIENTS

Classy Canines requests that new clients make sure to arrive five minutes before their appointment time, this is to allow time for a consultation to take place and to get to know yourself, your dog and your requirements for your groom. New clients will also be asked to fill in record cards at this time or these can be filled out over the phone when booking your appointment.
